Itinerary

Depart Nairobi at 06:30 in your private 4x4 safari vehicle. The 5-hour drive crosses the Great Rift Valley escarpment with dramatic scenery and your first glimpse of Maasai pastoralists. Arrive at camp for lunch. Your first afternoon game drive begins at 15:30 — the golden hours when predators start to stir. Keep watch for cheetah on elevated termite mounds scanning for prey. Return to camp for a fireside dinner under the Mara stars.

Rise before dawn for a 05:30 game drive — the most productive hours for predator activity. Lions often make kills in the early morning, and leopards return to tree-cached prey before daylight fully breaks. Breakfast in the bush. Continue along the Mara River where pods of hippos bask and Nile crocodiles line the banks. Afternoon — search the Mara Triangle for the elusive black rhino. Elephant herds move between Musiara Marsh and the open plains all day. Encounters are virtually guaranteed. Sundowner at a scenic viewpoint followed by dinner at camp.

This is the day most guests remember forever. Position early at a Mara River crossing point — wildebeest crossings during migration season (July to October) are among the most dramatic wildlife spectacles on earth. Afternoon: visit an authentic Maasai village, meet the elders and witness the Maasai jumping ceremony. A portion of your visit fee goes directly to the community. Evening game drive via the Talek River area — excellent for leopard sightings at dusk.

One last early morning game drive — often the best of the trip as guides know exactly where to find the resident pride. Brunch at camp followed by departure for Nairobi at 11:00, arriving 16:00 to 17:00. Drop-off at your Nairobi hotel or JKIA airport. Your safari memories and thousands of photographs will last a lifetime.

Frequently Asked Questions

No safari can guarantee wildlife sightings — these are wild animals in a wild landscape. Lion, elephant and buffalo are near-certain on this route; leopard and rhino are less common but regularly seen, which is why we rate them differently rather than promise all five.
