Pro tip: Kenya has two dry seasons — Jan–Feb and Jun–Oct. These are the best windows for wildlife viewing. The long rains (Mar–May) and short rains (Nov–Dec) bring lush green landscapes, fewer tourists, and lower prices — but some parks become hard to navigate.

Migration continues. Gorilla trekking is excellent. Sea turtles still nesting.

Oct

Migration starts to head south. Short rains begin. Whale sharks arrive at Watamu.

Nov

Short rains. Bird migration arrives at Rift Valley. Discounted rates at lodges.

Dec

Flamingos return to Nakuru. Good game viewing as rains ease. Festive beach holidays.
