Itinerary

Early departure from Nairobi (around 07:00) in a shared 4x4 safari vehicle for the roughly 5-6 hour drive to the Maasai Mara, with a stop en route for lunch (own expense) and views over the Great Rift Valley. Check in to your budget tented camp, then head straight out for an afternoon game drive as the light softens and the plains come alive.

A full day in the reserve with a picnic lunch, tracking lion, elephant, buffalo, giraffe and the resident herds of zebra and wildebeest. Your guide times the route around where sightings have been strongest in recent days. Return to camp for dinner under the stars.

One last early game drive to catch the Mara at its quietest, then breakfast and check-out. Depart for Nairobi by mid-morning, arriving back in the city by early evening.
